Ben Murphy was born in Augusta, Georgia and graduated at Brookwood High School. He then graduated from Auburn University in 2000 with a degree in Operations Management. He went on to work for Jesco/ Yates Construction until 2002. In 2003, Ben moved to Pensacola, Florida and married his lovely wife, Lander. Ben then decided to create a business of his own, establishing Ben Murphy Company, Inc. as a Florida corporation in 2004.

Ben Murphy is a Certified Green Builder by NAHB, a member of the Baldwin Home Builders Association, and a Fortified Wise Professional. He holds an Alabama Home Builders license, a Subcontractors license and a Fortified Building license. 

Ben and Lander have a son named Harris, a daughter Mary Rebecca, and three black labs Pearl, Lucy and Weller. Ben and his family lived in Gulf Shores in until 2014 and currently reside in Orange Beach.
